Improv Workshop

Continuing June 5th from 7-9 and following alternating Mondays, suddenlyLISTEN is happy to present a workshop for improvisers from all backgrounds and skill levels. The workshops are led by Norman Adams and Tim Crofts.
$5 per session

Workshops are held at The Quinpool Education Centre (third floor). Enter from the rear entrance - the door found at the inside left hand side of the courtyard. The courtyard is accessed from the rear parking lot side of the building. Take the stairs to the top, turn left in the hall - the room is on the right hand side, not far down the hall.

suddenlyLISTEN's improv workshop, now in its second season of meetings, is based on the long-standing weekly sessions that have been facilitated by Eddie Prévost – in London, UK. In these workshops participants are offered a safe and non-judgemental atmosphere in which they are encouraged to push their musical limits and make music outside of their personal comfort zones.

During the workshops participants are divided into groups to improvise short pieces for the others. Some comments may be made if desired, but listening and learning from other players is the main focus.

All people who are interested in making free music are encouraged to attend, regardless of experience, or musical ability: just bring yourself, an instrument if you need one, and your wide open mind! It's going to be a great chance for improvisers, new and more experienced to get together, work together, listen and learn from one another.
