Geordie Haley

Geordie Haley: Guitarist, Composer, Improviser and Educator has been a featured Artist with several new music presenters including Suddenly Listen, Upstream Music, Vocalypse, and Open Arts. Geordie is a frequent contributor to The Halifax Jazz Festival, the Harvest Blues and Jazz Festival, and the Open Waters Festival. 

He has collaborated with dancers Shannon Cooney, Susanne Chui,  and Jacinthe Armstrong. 

Geordie has played in the pit bands for Neptune Theatre, Theatre New Brunswick and Canadian Stage. 

As an accompanist and collaborator  Geordie has worked with Christine Duncan, Tena Palmer, Tanya Tagaq, Louise Pitre , Measha Brueggergosman and Agusta Enriquez.

In improvised settings Geordie has performed with saxophonists Evan Parker and Tony Malaby, bassists William Parker and Michael Formanek and drummer Gerry Granelli.

 As a leader Geordie has 6 albums of original music available on CDBABY, videos of live shows on you tube and numerous tracks on Soundcloud. 

Currently Geordie’s guitar playing is featured on Tom Easley’s EQ “The Starting Point “ , Morgan Zwicker Quartet ,and “Double Entendre” an improvisational duo with accordionist Robin Servant Geordie heads the Guitar programs at the NSCC Waterfront Music Arts Department since 2008 and the Maritime Conservatory since 2009.
