About the Event
In Flickering Cotillion, Collateral’s album release show, we introduce suddenlyLISTEN audiences to two new artists and bring back one of our favourite trios to release a new recording. Sam Shalabi returns to Halifax as part of Collateral with Norm Adams and Tim Crofts. Their newest recording, Flickering Cotillion, has been out for a while, but it’s only now that we can grab Sam to play thanks to his international touring schedule.
Deniz Tafaghodi is new to Halifax but not to noise and sound artists across Canada. Her work will draw Iranian girih patterns on an amplified wooden plate creating physical and sonic traces.
Charles Harding is a Fredericton based sound artist who will use hundreds of field recordings to document the sonic stories of a 140-year-old building.
Admission is $25 or pay what you can at the doors.
